Been working in Tyler Childers “Long Violent History,” such a great and timely song.

30 vs 50 - There are things I wish I could tell my younger self, but it’s the combo of success and failures that makes us who we are. Things I thought were a big deal often weren’t, things I took for granted now I see as gifts in life: health, family, friends (ok and guitars).

Had the chance to play on the same stage as amazing Rambler Kane this evening, he’s from Jacksonville, Florida. Check him out here ramblerkane.com

A few years back I was a keynote speaker at @bsidesdublin.bsky.social, well I managed to get invited back, so I didn’t screw it up that bad! I will be running a fun “Roll Your Own EDR” workshop on May 24th showing folks how to setup a lab using free and open source tools.

I think I’m the only non-lawyer presenting at Lewis & Clark College’s Data Privacy Symposium on February 21st. I hope to see some local friends there. My new course on “Cybercrime Prevention” starts in a few weeks.

National Vintage Tricone. For the price I thought maybe the neck was broken or some other major repair issue, but it’s pretty much flawless, it plays and sounds amazing, quite a bit heavier than the ‘33 Duolian, but the neck and action are way easier to play.

91 years old and still plays great, it will need a new neck before it turns 100, but it sounds amazing.

Got a ridiculous deal on a National Vintage Tricone because the prior owner put a hole for a strap to make it a lefty. I might put a pickup jack there.

It felt good to bring “Penny” out to play yesterday on a live stream. She is a 1933 National Duolian. I made a low ball offer for it at a guitar shop as the neck was warped. I worked with a local luthier who used to work for National to fix her up. It has a surprisingly warm tone
