genAI tools function by scraping and mass collecting data from the internet. sometimes they’ll turn up genuine citations, but sometimes they just gather a bunch of words and phrases that seem to “fit together” based on patterns in genuine citations—like field-specific terms, even real author names

i’ve been working on a career-altering writing project and i was so scared that i couldn’t do it without her. she saw me through everything and she was supposed to be here for this too. but now i’m getting ready to submit this week and the balloon is still floating, so maybe she is here after all

this past week it started really sinking and now it’s almost to the ground, but it’s not yet ON the ground. i didn’t know how i felt about “signs” before this whole ordeal but this is the third heart-shaped sign she has left for me and it has been such a balm for my own heart (pun unintended)
