The downside of this model is that those voice acting roles don’t move on to new talent. If a deceased person can be the voice of widgets forever, the market for loving actors shrinks.

They haven’t caved to anything. They haven’t changed anything. But the Christian coalition is taking advantage of the situation, calling it a victory, and using us to harm Costco- who they hate because Costco didn’t back down on DEI policy.
