I'm roasting jalapeños from my garden with tomatoes gifted by family for a blended smooth salsa today.

English paper piecing hexagons I cut and basted while listening to The Glutton by A K Blakemore. I'm working my way through a Hawaiian shirt worn by my child when they were 18 months old.
A short sleeve, unpicked and laid flat on a school desktop with 3 short stacks of hexagon blocks cut from the same shirt. The shirt fabric print is a tropical botanical print with yellow gradient pineapples, monstera leaves, falm fronds, and other foliage in orange, yellow, and green on a navy blue background. This monster vine is from a single bean.
A large tangle of scarlet runner bean vines branch from the main vine climbing a bamboo pole support. Supplementary long garden poles have been placed for branching vines to wrap around for more support. Bean pods and clusters of scarlet blooms stick out at all angles, adding to the vines' unruly and aggressive appearance.

I made some big changes for the fall-winter gardening season. The strawberry bed is cleared out for onions and garlic.
A rock lined garden bed against a concrete brick patio is emptied of strawberry plants to prepare for sowing onions and garlic. To the left poppies, carnations and a potted peony peek in the frame. In the bottom left of the frame is an orange utility bucket full of strawberry plants and uprooted columbine. The same rock lined garden bed against a cement brick patio, now planted and watered in. Each single row of onion and garlic seeds is bordered with shredded paper to retain moisture and act as a weed barrier.

Bean time part two.

I harvested two lavender bushes today. I cut down the big woody one and saved a few cuttings to propagate from it. I gave the second lavender bush a close trim to keep it from over growing.
