I lived in Mosswood during grad school, then bought a first house in Maxwell Park. Laurel, Dimond, Allendale have strong neighborhood identities so may be good for a look. Kate Phillips was our realtor and knows the neighborhoods exceedingly well.

San Luis Obispo has always been a nice area, though I hear it’s seeing a contracting population. Have you looked at Gilroy or Salinas? Do you guys need large R1 universities for work options?

The East Bay is your friend, then. You should be comfortable there. Albany and northward is just north of the majority of summer fog, as is Oakland and south — Berkeley gets the full blast. Have you explored Walnut Creek yet? Over the hill is pretty toasty warm.
