Lots of chat about preparation for #TheAshes

Whereas all they missed was telling players:

Catch it
Bowl it in the right place
Don’t make dick decisions with the bat!

They can’t prepare for brainlessness.

Watched #KnivesOut #DeadManWalking Enjoyed it. Not the kind of whodunnit you guess at like Agatha Christie. But an exaggerated Poirot nonetheless. Some lovely performances from a cast who looked like they were given free rein to camp it up. 7/10

How many billions are we investing in this junk?

I’ll tell you how good the #F1Movie is. I’m watching it again on a Sunday morning while I decide what to do today.

Turns out the 12 labours of #Hercules did not prepare the cast for flu. So having come into London to see a Greek hero we’re now shopping! And drinking…

The people who slated the F1 movie are the same people who would have slated Top Gun or Rocky.

Sometimes it’s ok to let go of real life.

Champions Full Gallop is trying too hard to be Drive to Survive.

It feels a little inauthentic as a result.

It’s a shame. The sport can be so dramatic. So spectacular. So full of intrigue and mystery.

Unlike F1, it doesn’t need to be manufactured.

The ‘tsunami of flu cases’ in hospital beds last week amounts to:

0.0037% of the UK population.

When will the rhetoric stop?
December 12, 2025 at 12:52 PM
I don’t know why they think Ian Fleming and James Bond were sexist… 🤣🤣

There are 67 MILLION PEOPLE in the UK.

If 5000 people in hospital beds with flu is an issue, we do not have enough hospital beds.

Have we learned nothing from Covid?

Not a single thing?

Every day. Thousands of tourists queue for their archetypal ‘shot with London telephone box’. Could we at least paint the damn things?

Or is that faded look more appropriate for where we are now on the world stage?

John Redwood.

A man who told us we could buy English cars during the Brexit campaign.

With total ignorance that Jaguars and Range Roverd contained components from across Europe.

Is of course made a life peer.

For services to what?

Fucking over the UK economy?

Absolutely adored #DownCemeteryRoad

Whisper it but actually better than #SlowHorses

Two Mick Herron masterpieces.

Glioblastoma claims Sophie Kinsella at 55. It took an account manager from me in her 40s. It took two good friends - one at 60. One at 62.

3200 people a year are diagnosed. Of whom less than 200 will live for 5 years.

It’s horrific.

Yet my friend’s charity has to fundraise…

The Beatles Anthology on Disney+ is very good.

It’s totally mad that the NHS is a Sacred Cow and yet health outcomes in the UK are much worse than many other comparable nations.

What’s great about Lando and the lads from Woking winning is it’s a double British win.

Along with Max coming second - another British win.

Because in reality:

McLaren
Red Bull
And even Mercedes

All British teams. Based in Britain.

Maybe the red cars should move here… 😉

Which is not to say that Lewis isn’t a lovely fella. He clearly is.

Tonight’s #Strictly results restore my faith in the British people.

The three couples put through are genuine amateurs who have learned to dance.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Fair play to Stokes. Came out fronted up and nailed our issue. Great cricketers making amateur decisions.

A lovely day at my favourite course which served up one winner… need something else to pay for Xmas…

I’m not feeling the latest season of #StrangerThings - all a bit too complex and contrived. Sorry.

Cadbury’s Dairy Milk.

20% cocoa solids.

Might be a glass and half of emulsifiers in there I suppose.

Sure ain’t much chocolate.
