I can imagine the conversation at CCHQ:

François: I’m off to Reform Ltd. if you don’t offer me something.

Badenough: How about I let you sit up front by the driver?

François: oh yippee mum!…er…Ms. Badenough.

Peerages are shaky ground for the Tories.

Richard Holden, a Johnson supporter, doesn’t get to lecture anyone about judgment.

Going to be pretty hard listening to the government being lectured on judgement by the party that not only brought us Johnson and Truss, but elected them to the highest position in the land.

Lee Anderson doesn’t want pubs closing as they are the natural habitat of belligerent pub bores…

Typical Tory. Not a thought for the welfare of young people, they’re just commodities to be bought as cheaply as possible.

I'm all for the government helping out independent pubs. If it ends up as a subsidy for arsehole companies like Stonegate and Wetherspoons then it'll be a waste.

Either way, pubs will continue struggle because most of them are too big, draughty, expensive to heat and empty most of the week.

#r4today, why do you persist in trotting out that silly old crank ‘Lord’ Moore?

Badenough, "we will protect our veterans, no matter what they've done".

It baffles me how cranks like Badenough are allowed to imply drilling for more oil (which is getting much harder and less cost effective) is an economic opportunity but green technologies aren’t.

Badenoch’s arguments are not only stupid and careless but politically gormless too.

This is an opportunity for the Tories to demonstrate leadership and moral clarity as well as create a positive difference to their political opponents.

Opportunity missed.

Just walked dog through Newcastle’s leafy Jesmond. Not a single Christmas tree featured tinsel.

WTAF is wrong with these people?!

Degenerates.

I like Ken Clarke, but like all Tories, he seems to take absolutely no responsibility for the mess the country is in.

He seems to think his era was a great success but most of the country’s problems took root then and were caused by them.
