EU Commission decision limiting issue of multiple entry Schengen visas to Russians resident in Russia now published. In principle only these groups of applicants can obtain such visas, and only for these short periods of validity. (There's a possible exception in "justified cases" though) 1/

Also, here's the CJEU explicitly saying that the similarly worded precursor to the current law (3 months/6 months) was not a minimum standard, but a "maximum" period.

A rare example of EU law being agreed by a razor-thin margin - the amendments to EU law on airline passengers' rights were supported by Member States with 65.57% of EU population (needed 65% to pass). And this still needs further negotiation with the European Parliament to become law.
