I don’t know how much they can really gameplan for a January shutdown. A lot can change by then with the politics that could affect if it happens, and if so, how long it lasts.

It sounds to me like the grant you submitted in October would just be considered in early for the new deadline. So, you could probably withdraw it and modify it for the same cycle if you wanted (that last is just a guess, though).

I was there today. I think one challenge is that most have not read the Compact or really know what its implications are. It is much easier to get folks to rally around someone they like and respect than to do for for a group of concepts, as significant as they are for the University.
