and no mention of disintegration Chambers as in that one episode of the original Star Trek series. I thought the Swiss were efficient!

it's not an island, so it's okay. that's the way that works, right?

to be fair, probably better health care than what United healthcare would approve
December 9, 2025 at 10:24 PM
I don't think we're being fair, I think Sam Altman imagines all kinds of things about himself.
December 9, 2025 at 10:22 PM
she's a communist and a socialist, just like *checks notes* Hillary Clinton
December 9, 2025 at 10:21 PM
it's obviously a significant problem for our nation that somebody can say "unlimited free welfare" just to take one example from this fecal interview and nobody corrects it.
December 9, 2025 at 9:18 PM
it's been a couple of decades since I had anything to do with tech/design but it is a pretty well known principle that people resist interface changes. even when it's a good change, people get used to doing things the same way. software designers assume that resistance. is not always good
December 9, 2025 at 9:16 PM
and WTF is Jimmy Fallon doing here?
December 9, 2025 at 9:12 PM
obviously he's utterly inadequate, incompetent, completely out of touch. but that's even less horrifying than the idea that this guy would have anything to do with raising or caring for a baby
December 9, 2025 at 9:12 PM
I want to say something that should be completely obvious. chatGPT facilitates suicide. does non-consensual porn. steals content. if Sam Altman is worse than chat GPT.. then .
December 9, 2025 at 9:11 PM
I guess it goes without saying that Sam Altman thinks that this is an endorsement of chatGPT, rather than an indictment of his own incompetence and lack of imagination?
December 9, 2025 at 7:03 PM
thanks for telling us who you are. not that it wasn't already obvious.
December 9, 2025 at 6:57 PM
they should look like.. you know.. Europeans. which would normally mean one in seven are people of color. or by European do you mean white people? cuz that's sort of seems like what you're saying here. politico certainly seems to.
December 9, 2025 at 5:57 PM
pretty . umm.. white.
December 9, 2025 at 5:49 PM
I think they're succeeding! I mean, assuming their project is to rehabilitate The credibility of Baghdad Bob by comparison.
December 9, 2025 at 1:55 PM
it's more important to muse whether Mamdani is the next Stalin rather than acknowledging how much of our entire society is based on regulatory capture, and rent seeking by the ultra wealthy. completely unrelated to the ultra wealthy that advertise I'm sure.
December 9, 2025 at 1:52 PM
long-term obviously coal goes away. likewise gas cars once the incentives go away. battery and electric technology is going to just become even cheaper than it already is. the question is how soon and how much damage!
December 3, 2025 at 7:59 PM
yeah I mean the modality of it is.. messed up. but there are places that are taking nuclear out of service cool. and it's not all legacy in terms of power generation. globalenergymonitor.org/projects/glo...

they're mining it and there's still plenty of it. Germany of all places is going back to coal on at least a minor level
December 3, 2025 at 7:53 PM
that's definitely true. even though I don't exactly agree about the better technology thing. definitely true that once fleet buyers Buy in to something, then there's no stopping it
December 3, 2025 at 7:52 PM
I'm not exactly sure that EVs eat the market absent all of the different incentives in credits that are involved. and I'm not exactly sure that even in the case of power generation, the superior technology wins. countries are going back to coal because it's cheaper in the short run.

Apple brown Betty would like to have a word with you...

Rao's was a super insider/celebrity NYC Italian place. as I recall, there was a generational shift in ownership and the new generation decided to sell out what was a very upscale name (to the highest bidder) et voila!

I think one of the problems with her campaign is that even though I probably understand what she's getting at, and maybe the people behind this publication are of the mainstream Democratic feelings about this. but she doesn't seem to get how insulting that statement is

that he was even in the room shows that he's the big man there. Trump trying to pretend approbation is just an admission that he couldn't prevent it
