With this new charge, and the increasing rates of BIK the benefit will be much reduced. At the end of this lease (which coincides with the introduction of the new tax), I won't be getting another PHEV

Very true. I certainly wouldn't have got one if we didn't have the home charger for the EV. During the summer, the short journeys are mostly electric. Long journeys, we'd never charge publicly so it's all petrol. In the winter, the heaters use more petrol.

I agree. It's going to cost me about £20 a month overall. It'll now be about half the cost of running a petrol car, rather than a third of the cost.

It's the PHEV charges that are worse. We're already paying significant fuel duty. We don't get half our miles as an EV. I won't be getting another

It's weird here - there's nothing to say you can't ask specifics, but if you're going to ask specifics and require evidence, that could be discrimination in itself. So it's a balance. I'm sorry you've had to go through all these hoops, I know it can stop people asking for reasonable adjustments

I do have wider experience relating to the Equality Act (which governs disability matters) here in the UK so if you need any more info or help, then feel free to reach out

My experience of Tottenham, with my son with sensory issues, is a positive one, albeit that was a low level. They ensured access through the quieter disabled access, and provided us with the information needed if he suffered from sensory overload
November 26, 2025 at 4:47 PM
A lot of the time it depends on what adjustments you need. They have to make reasonable adjustments, so may ask for evidence of disabilities, to ensure that the adjustments are reasonable. The more difficult the request, the more likely they are to ask for evidence

Those years of disappointment being slightly interrupted by one special night in Bilbao, of course

I'm in it. No matter what the football has been like, living up north from when I went to uni it's been a bit lonely as a spurs fan. However, the last few years as my youngest has truly fallen in love with Spurs, and sharing my years of mostly disappointment with him have been the best

When they moved from ILR to 5 years LTR, even then they couldn't get a process in place. 5 years to plan, and nothing. It became an anxious farce which turned into an almost automatic grant if ILR

I rarely use that other site anymore, but I have visited and attempted to add a community note, which if approved will end up on all shares of the video

The preposterous nature of it is that, if reports are to be believed, that the fine was issued under s33 EPA 1990. I'd like to see the Council prove that it was controlled waste deposited. It's a misuse of this legislation, which is used to prosecute fly-tipping

I would agree that if her account is correct, then it's not her fault (and if her account is incorrect, that in itself is a resigning matter).

However, much of the ministerial code means that inadvertent breaches can lead to resignation, cf Amber Rudd

Maddison, Kulu, Dragusin through injury and Bissouma through either a sale or just because he's lowest in the pecking line in central midfield miss out for me, plus Takai as can't see him featuring enough.

Last one has to be an attacker. Whoever it is will be missed. Possibly Odobert 🙈

Has anyone yet been able to answer why the use of violence in order to influence a government in respect of a political aim, has not been pursued as terrorism? And those who invite the violence, as inciting terrorism?
