On a tangent… Ruth Copeland’s version of Gimme Shelter could be a gateway for those who don’t know her work into a joyful world of discovery. From Co Durham to George Clinton. Worth checking her great music and, quite frankly, mad career route!

We’ve always maintained that they’re “good for curlers” - four of us, all played football together in our teens, still insist upon it as absolute fact now, even though we’re in our 50s.

It was good enough for the island in the 80s so 100%… and of course, it lent a title to the favourite summer party of a fair few of us (Waves to @dannykelly.bsky.social )
