I've been asking my drummer friend Chris Vatalaro – now playing with Radiohead (!) – to send me photos of him on stage so I can build his website. So far he hasn't send any, so last night I threatened to hijack it with a BBC review mentioning his playing unless he complied. Today I did it 😂

I have a rule that if I mention Leonard and Hungry Paul to someone that hasn’t read it, I buy it for them. Copy #18 now winging its way from @kirkdalebooks.bsky.social to Alice in Muswell Hill after a nice book chat on Saturday night 💛

Sometimes the setup of a gig just promises so much… SML at Church of Sound

I visited V&A East Storehouse today, a museum warehouse out in East London. It’s a pretty amazing place - a bit like a modern multi-floor version of the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. amazing to get close to so many items of the collection.

Pulp hired my Swart SST for a tour in 2011. It came back with the flight cases sprayed up with their logo.

I was packing the amp away for a studio move and found this set list in the back of the cab. Accidental memorabilia is always the best kind 🤩

Well Apple really have outdone themselves this time. According to MSN. “a report claims the iPhone 17 is selling much better than the iPhone 17” 😂

Thanks to Cathal Murray and the ever-supportive @rte.ie for playing Juliet Turner's track Vampire [REDUX] on Late Date last night... in fine company there in that playlist I'm sure you'll agree

It's still really pleasing when this happens - someone throwing a few quid for something I built and offer for free, namely my Swiss army knife for musicians, Synculator. I recently added a disk space and tape length calculator by request of producer Dave Lynch

I’m not afraid to say it’s The Soul Cages by Sting. He may be like a gnarled Geordie Gollum these days but back in 1991 this album just took over my life. I still listen to it once a month and enjoy every corner of it.

Isn’t it absolutely fabulous that Ozzy Osbourne got to do the stadium gig of a lifetime in his home town with metal legends showing up to pay tribute to Black Sabbath oniy a couple of weeks before he died? Like a living funeral of the most perfect kind.

Absolute legend #RIP

Went to see John Scofield playing at Union Chapel last night. My jaw is aching this-morning due to the Cheshire Cat grin that landed on my face as he played his first note and only left once the final applause died down. Sublime.

My mate Matt is having a big Star Wars party later this year. I got home to a surprise package today - he made me a Han Solo blaster!!! How cool is that!

Sly Stone #RIP

One of the funkiest guys ever to draw breath. So sad…

The previous copy was sent to Guy Pratt, the bass player from Pink Floyd. He had this to say ♥️♥️♥️

I have a rule: if I mention the book Leonard and Hungry Paul by @ronanhession.bsky.social to a friend who hasn’t heard of it, I immediately order them a copy.

This is the 16th such copy, destined for my co-producer of the Flook Sanju EP, John Calvert. Mentioned over beers in the sun yesterday ♥️

One of the all-time great jazz lineups. No-one could swing like these cats...

Spent a bit of time with a friend over the weekend… and his ridiculous guitars - 1967 Gibson ES-335 which was like new, and a kickass 1962 Fender Jazzmaster. Loved the Baldwin too… he’s a lucky boy, eh, #guitarsky?

Spent the day putting the finishing touches to the new Juliet Turner record (anyone from Ireland remember this amazing artist?) with my dear friend and stellar producer Leo Abrahams. Joyous.

You might like Pippa Darbyshire’s paintings of La Baie de Somme. That’s her thing exactly.

Going to watch Lizz Wright at The Barbican tonight. I’m trying to prepare myself for it but there’s only so much you can do when a singer has found a direct high speed fast fibre optical connection directly to the core of your soul. There will be tears 🥲

So happy to finally be recording this guy - for a lovely track I’m working on with Juliet Turner 🤩

I still get a buzz from getting an actual physical product of something I’ve worked on - in this case the gorgeous vinyl of Flook’s upcoming record “Sanju” - out on 21st March ♥️
