A beautiful painting of Noor Inayat Khan; also known as Nora Baker or ‘Madeleine’ her SOE codename. Sent to occupied France as a wireless operator Khan was betrayed, captured, and executed at Dachau in 1944. She was posthumously awarded the George Cross for gallantry #WAAF #SOE

It was nice to stop off at the Le Touret Memorial and Cemetery where we did a Christmas Truce stand for the school battlefield tour. Amongst the graves is Bill Bannister, one who didn’t get the chance to shake hands, exchange gifts or fraternise with the enemy on that Christmas day in 1914

The group paid their respects today at No.2 Outpost CWGC Cemetery. A new memorial marker to a grave that contains numerous human remains that were found after the recent Anzac fire. They now rest in peace #Gallipoli
