According to legend, Rob was roommates with comedian Doug Benson. Rob came home from work early and told Doug the story of Mr. Belvedere sitting on his balls at a rehearsal. Then Doug spread that story to the world including Adam Sandler and that story gif attached to him.

It’s a nice piece of writing, per usual. But I think it’s worth pointing out as a Queens native that saying Mamdani and AOC are from Queens is a bit of a stretch. They represent Queens, to our great delight, but it would be as apt to say you were from Savannah.
