..also I've just been informed that the Catcott car park and hide is shut. No reason given as of yet.. but the avalon hide at Ham Wall is shut because of bird flu so I'm guessing it's that

3/ I'm a long way from being good at it yet, but I'm quite pleased with these. ( tbh.. there's a lot of outlining and gap filling in these but the results,are nice and atmospheric so who cares!)

...2/ Soak some ( heavy ..I use multimedia) paper for about 5mins, then wipe off excess. If you're rich then pass the plate/ paper and a soft cloth through a press. If you're poor ( like me) put the paper on the plate and roller it by hand. Hey presto.
Then tint/ darken with pen etc.

1/Basically an etching. I use a clear plastic sheet .. about 4mm thick. I reverse print a drawing I've done ( or the print will be reversed) and using a sharp point ( etching tool) scratch/ trace the image onto the plate. Apply printing ink.. wipe off excess. Ink is held in the scratches.

Love it. Looks like the partridge has either escaped from or/ is waiting to get into... the pear tree. Either way ..what a lovely story!
