‘Labour Dumbs Down Schools’. Rubbish! Labour’s Curriculum Review is designed to tackle the huge, widening disadvantage gap by equipping far more children with the skills & opportunities to thrive. Now, the task is to turn this vision into reality, by giving schools the resources to make it reality.

Today the King will unveil a memorial to LGBT+ personal serving in the Armed Forces, as well as celebrating those who served when it was illegal for them to be gay. The Armed Forces have long moved on but, as a Church leader, I regret that too many parts of the Church have not.

As a teenager all I learned from school was I was thick! But at my youth club I learned to play the guitar, I became a junior leader & I got the chance to travel. I felt trusted & empowered. Enrichment both ‘in’ & ‘beyond’ school is an essential part of education for every child.

Whenever Christianity is co-opted to support violence, misogyny or racism it loses its very soul. Here’s the letter I and a group of friends wrote over the last few days, was then signed by senior church leaders across denominations and published by The Sunday Times & Sunday Mirror today.

In 2021 this team set up a pilot; Oasis Nurture provides personalised therapeutic care for children facing multiple adversities, making sure that no child feels excluded because of the emotional challenges they face. Now we’re ready to launch the same approach elsewhere in London & Liverpool.

Yesterday we were privileged to host Prince William at Oasis St Martin’s Village in South London, as he came to meet the fantastic group of local charities working together there to create life l-changing opportunities for local young people. It takes a village to raise a child!

To starve a child is a crime against humanity. We call for:
Adequate food & aid supplies for Gaza now.
A permanent ceasefire now.
All hostages & captives held by Hamas to be released now.
Any policy which amounts to the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian population from Gaza to be renounced now.

Israel’s steady annexation of Gaza & the West Bank is a moral outrage. The murder of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians is diabolical. The recognition of a Palestinian state has been discussed internationally for 51 years now. It is time to find the courage to act!

“Poverty is not just a statistic. It’s a child going to bed cold. It is a student falling asleep in class because they had to work after school.”

Words from Bigun, an Oasis Academiy student in the report published with the Childrens Society. Read here it: www.childrenssociety.org.uk/information/...

Pope Francis, still at work beyond his death!

"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon...where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy."
From the Prayer of St. Francis

Today we mourn Virginia Giuffre, who yesterday took her own life, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse & sex trafficking. We applaud her courage in the fight against sexual abuse; “the light that lifted so many survivors" until the toll of her abuse became unbearable.
