Person: "What are you going to do after graduation?"
Me: "Probably write a bunch of Star Wars fanfiction and recover from academic burnout."

i need you to understand the only reason it wasn't a big deal was that everyone spent loads of time fixing code before it could become a problem, which is why it never did

We are five sessions into Curse of Strahd and I am really enjoying it as a first-time DM! Buuuut I have a million questions. Questions I can't run by any of the DMs I know. Because they're all players at my table 🙃

Found my LiveJournal from 23 years ago. No punchline, just one very embarrassing trip down memory lane.

"... and never the twain shall meet," etc.
If you're not writing your long book what are you even doing. It's the summer of writing your long book, not the summer of experiencing happiness
I'm going to tell you exactly how to write a book. Do you see that impenetrable brick wall ahead of you? You're going to ram your head into it until long book is long.

Still, there's something inherently violent even about dice rolls. It's like every time you cast a die, something disappears. Some alternative ending, or an entirely different world...

My 8-year-old is very interested in what I'll do after undergrad.

"Why don't you just choose a job where you go and people pay you to write books?"
