I was on my own today, which happens when you don’t have family (and is totally ok, I promise), but it’s the surprise messages that you don’t see coming that really make your day. I worked with this colleague - same bosses, different company - in the early 2000s, the mid-2010s, and again now.🥰

My alarm woke me up from a dream about John Candy. He was touring my apt bldg - much nicer than the one I actually live in. He walked over & gave me a big hug & I said, “You’re just a big teddy bear. ‘Big bear!’”(alluding to The Great Outdoors because I can’t escape the dork in me even in my dreams)

I can’t remember the backstory for these photos. I saved them on my phone because, to me, they captured the essence of Joe Biden that we all fell in love with. No, I did not agree with all of his policy decisions. But he has always LOVED this country. Always. Wishing him a full recovery.❤️

TIL that concrete is a conductor of electricity and, therefore, of lightning. “Don’t sit or lean on concrete during a thunderstorm.” So, basically, I’ll need to levitate while avoiding the wall of windows in my place when these storms blow through tonight. Fantastic.

I was talking to a friend in Chicago about possibly moving back there, and she said the only real difference re safety in the city is more aggressive drivers.
