People coming here now have nothing resembling a ‘golden ticket’. They have overt hostility and - if they get to work - brazen exploitation by employers who seem to think the normal employment rights don’t need to apply to them. It’s crushingly hard. Made harder every day by rhetoric like Mahmood’s.

The Home Secretary’s comments are no better. AND people coming to the UK in small boats, or by other irregular routes are NOT Prime Minister & BBC, I repeat are NOT illegal migrants.

There is no problem with immigration, save that manufactured by politicians (of all parties).

should not be able to remove them (whole reason for the ECHR in the first place). Further, if you can limit or remove rights then they are no longer fundamental. It’s about time HMG stood up for these rights & faced down the likes of Farage/Tice/Jennrick/Badenoch & their fascist rhetoric & policies.

I agree with this 💯 Would likely need a written constitution to limit parliamentary sovereignty (which isn’t so much “parliamentary” sovereignty as opposed to “Executive” or “ Governmental”sovereignty). PR would help too. Regardless, human rights are fundamental and universal & governments

High time the notion of parliamentary sovereignty was given proper limits. lf human rights are defined as what no one can take away from you, why should Parliament be able to do so? Or say a country is safe when it's not?

This is flat out bollocks by the Home Secretary. Nobody is seeking asylum in UK for the joy of being crammed into an overcrowded and squalid hotel and forced to eat inedible food, which is the case for many hotels. The UK is not "generous" and it's not a prime destination for people seeking asylum.

& fossil fuel companies.

I want public services properly funded.

And manifesto promises can & should be broken in the public (not party) interest.

PS No, I’m not rich, but needs must.

Please share widely in case someone in the Labour might just see this.
