I love Turner. Though probably not quite as much as Ruskin did.
Sixty years before Monet, there was J.M.W. Turner in Rouen, studying light on the facade of the cathedral. Pretty good! Turner was born on this day in 1775.

Resharing not because I think any of my friends don't know this, but because it's useful to have a concise summary of the argument to point to.
My husband has taught human reproduction and development to the Cambridge medics for over three decades. When people start banging on about "only two biological sexes" he starts with "which sex: genetic, hormonal, or gonadal"?

Biological sex is not binary. www.scientificamerican.com/article/sex-...

Biologists now think there is a larger spectrum than just binary female and male

Every day another example of why it was so we as Unitarians at the weekend voted to stand with our siblings in the UUA against the abominations of the Trump Administration. It's not enough. Please stand against hate rhetoric in politics in the UK too, because words open the door to actions.

I found myself in discussion about the merits of different social media platforms yesterday and it made me realise that although I've set up an account on bluesky I haven't really got to grips with it. So, friends on bluesky, tell me about what you're reading/following/loving here?
