Even if you don't regularly go to the library, go get a library card from your local branch! Show your local councils and committees there is an uptick in interest. Libraries take great care of their patrons who do utilize their resources. Its a small way to use your privilege!

Summer is supposed to end on September 21, but for me, this season is over. Someday I'll write about this experience, sharing the bits that helped me come to terms with so much.

Upward and onward...

came across an email i sent a friend 2 years ago: "anytime i break form, i find there’s almost zero tolerance for anything different/innovative. i trust the audience enough that they’ll see what i’m trying to do, but the editors do not."

cheers to breaking form and making shit happen your own way.

This is my favorite piece yet on the state of AI & journalism. “The only journalism business strategy that works […] is if you create something of value that people (human beings, not bots) want to read or watch or listen to, and that they cannot find anywhere else.”

The Media's Pivot to AI Is Not Real and Not Going to Work
AI is not going to save media companies, and forcing journalists to use AI is not a business model.

9,000 employees, or 4 percent of Microsoft’s workforce, are affected by the cuts, which started Wednesday morning. The full scope of layoffs within Microsoft’s gaming divisions are still unknown.
Xbox Hit With Layoffs and Game Cancelations as Microsoft Cuts 9,000 Jobs
“These changes come at a time when we have more players, games, and gaming hours than ever before,” said Xbox head Phil Spencer in an email to staff.

Met with @ferncxandcrm.com for a coffee chat yesterday, and the vibes were immaculate. Highly recommend making time to meet with your biz friends one-on-one, even if it's virtually. Makes networking and community building a breeze!

👇🏼 Niche subs are fantastic.
Reddit is useful if you're keeping to very niche subs. If you follow any sub that regularly makes the front page - or if you actually use reddit's front page - you're doing it wrong.

Looking for a new backup service provider for WordPress.

Since their name change, TeamUpdraft (UpdraftPlus) has been a nightmare, and because I like to keep this separate from my host, I'm looking to move.

Recommendations, anyone?

I've been busy in the batcave, but this is welcoming news for a city that gave me all the things I love most. 💖
“It takes a lot to pull one over on New Yorkers, and when we looked around, the city described in Cuomo attack ads simply did not exist. We recognize that the city’s problems come mostly from the people above, and not the ones sitting next to us on the subway.”
