For as city with such a large Indian population, it's quite hard to get Indian food in Dublin. Was out in Sandyford and there's this great Southern Indian place called Southern Spices. Fantastic meal here. Chicken 65; chilli paneer; mutton meatballs; potato dosa.
Chicken 65, the chicken has been very lightly battered and deep fried to a dark brown colour. There is a green dipping sauce in a metal ramkin next to it. Chilli paneer, in a thick red sauce with red peppers and onions An absolutely massive dosa, folded into a triangle. You can see some fermented coconut sauce that's white and a dal as well The mutton meatballs, they've been breadcrumbed and deep fried. There's a green sauce on the side

Ragu alla Bolognese. I have been meaning to try that 'official' recipe for years. Only 2tbs of tomato concentrate and made with milk. Only sub I had to do was use guanciale because I'd no pancetta. This absolutely slapped.
A bowl of tagliatelle, the sauce is a light orangey brown and there is loads of Parmesan sprinkled on top.

Terre Madre is basically the only Italian restaurant I eat in in Dublin. Most other places I can make better myself at home but not here. Selection of antipasti; gnocchi, pistachio, speck, straciatella; amatriciana. The gnocchi dish is an absolute banger.

In the past, in my experience, bad customers were mainly either drunk and entitled or else minor celebrities, the kind who have tasted just enough fame to be complete arseholes; Graham Linehan, for example, seemingly made a point of always coming in five minutes after lunch service had started and asking for breakfast while his companions ordered from the lunch menu. “They’d tell him to fuck off at McDonald’s,” we’d mutter, but make him his bacon sandwich anyway. In fact, we would have told him to fuck off too (rather more politely) if he hadn’t been then-beloved sitcom writer Graham Linehan, years before his reinvention as extremely divorced transphobe. We should have realised.

Opinion Everything you think you know about Antifa is wrong Just hear me out By CEO of Antifa Leader of one of the world's largested politcal organisations It might strike you as odd to see an author who is unashamedly anti-fascist being published in this newpaper but after the publication of Tom Cotton's call to fascism yesterday I have been given the honour of a right of reply, of sorts (I am not allowed engage with any of the points raised by his article). Regardless of whether this is a desperate attempt at damage limitation by a profoundly debased outlet such as the New York Times or not, I cannot refuse access to a platform such as this. Instead let me give an insight into the workings of the institution I lead. Heading a global organisation like Antifa is not easy, there are many unique challenges, not least because we give our employees such a large degree of autonomy to meet their objectives. It's this latitude that helps us innovate in the protest space and really punch above our weight. As the events of the past week have shown, this allows us to be nimble in the face of ever changing situations on the ground. However, people often mistake this organisational agility as a free-for-all. Yes, colleagues are empowered to make decisions on their own but they do not act without direction. Behind the scenes you see a pretty standard management structure that wouldn't look out of place in an average corporation. Generally, I and the board will outline strategic goals for the year ahead in Q1, perhaps we want to increase engagement with the crucial 25-34 market or bolster recruitment of frontline operatives (we call these employees 'supersoldiers' but it's not as scary as it sounds!) that help us pacify important towns and cities. Once that's done it's up to the various regional managers and their direct reports to decide how to achieve these goals, measured according to strict Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). KPIs are incredibly important to me, and I have ensured that Antifa is a very data driven organisation, in fact, after 'Smash Fascism', I think our main guiding principle is 'what cannot be measured, cannot be improved'. To give an example, after Richard Spencer was filmed being punched in the face by a concerned citizen we noted how much engagement the recording garnered online. This led me to add a new metric to our dashboards of 'videoed punchings of Nazis', which led to a 400% increase in public humiliations for far right agitators. My approach was once considered unconventional by the 'old guard' but as our rise to public prominence increased yearly it became hard to argue with the results. I invested heavily in data science several years so we could more accurately target our interventions for maximum effect. We are now seeing the fruits of my foresight and our shareholders couldn't be happier. Yes, you read correctly, shareholders. I was initially appointed to help diversify the sources of our funding. For many years we had depended on the largesse of one benefactor (I'll leave you to guess who that was) and naturally the board was nervous of being so reliant on one source of income. Gradually, I managed to attract capital from across the political spectrum culminating in one of my most coveted achievements: investment from the Koch Institute. Clearly, they're hedging their bets given our meteoric rise and I think that's beautiful. But naturally we can't just spend our benefactors' money with impunity and the coronavirus pandemic has meant we have had to be quite imaginative with how we manage our finances. To aid us we have successfully applied to several of the employee furlough schemes throughout the world, including the US, which means that your tax dollars are helping to pay 80-100 per cent of our operatives wages. Government works. We have a lot of initiatives in the pipeline for the future, mainly based around making people afraid to be fascists in public again but not only that. I have plans to open Antifa themed bars to help us further diversify our revenue streams and a trademark on our famous double flagged logo is pending that will finally allow us to monetise the lucrative merchandise market. Of course I expect internal opposition to these moves but I think my record speaks for itself. Just as I have managed to assuage the fears of our more militant members, I hope my article has done likewise for this newspaper's readers and made it clear that we are not to be feared (unless you are a Nazi). In fact, I believe Antifa and wider society can work together to find new synergies that will benefit us all. Watch this space.
