It took me my whole life to figure it out-- even if I had been seen by Mayo 10 years ago, I would have had no luck then because exome sequencing is so new. I'm lucky I lasted this long without anything more serious occurring.

Most twin studies of various mental illnesses found even lower concordance: schizophrenia had the greatest concordance.

Concordance does not prove it's heritable/ genetic: mothers getting flu or toxoplasmosis during pregnancy is associated with a higher risk of schizophrenia in the offspring.

I was really glad when I had PCPs taking me seriously although they were stymied on what was wrong. I felt like a hypochondriac for years anyway. But my gut instinct it could be two separate unrelated issues, not just one, was valid. Exome sequencing solved things for me.

Works for a lot of things sensitive to dehydration. Overhydration is a thing and I struggle with certain electrolyte levels, so I appreciate my electrolyte powders a lot.

I always love it when the poison frogs go from green to yellow/red in autumn. Best time to tap their sap for toxic syrup-making.

While I love tagging orange monarch butterflies in the fall. I am also looking forward to seeing them sprout green next spring.
