Replacing the word “crypto” with “Sampo” in my mind has made this whole subculture a little funnier to tolerate.
A poster for a late 50s Russo-Finish legend/fantasy film called SAMPO featuring many beautiful and/or bearded characters dressed as Vikings or proto Vikings, I think? This movie was marketed in English speaking populations as “The Day the Earth Froze” which might be most known for being riffed on by the cast of Mystery Science Theater 3000 in the late 1990’s.

At least there’s the 2-CD Deluxe Edition of Prince & the Revolution’s Around the World in a Day.

Nothing exclusive here, but many of the extended versions are getting their debut reissue here, including the mighty “She’s Always in My Hair”, “Girl” and “Pop Life”

According to A.I., the title Piper at the Gates of Dawn may have had a predecessor from 5 years earlier thanks to an imaginary Chuck Berry live album from 1962.

There are worse things to say about Duolingo, and I risk being a prude, but having the young boy character Junior peep into an occupied stall of a public restroom to promote upgrading its app is… a choice.

Scoop from the Best Show: a 50th anniversary reissue of Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music will come out next year. Liner notes by Thurston Moore. It will be a special edition. That's all we get to know for now, but apparently it will be a "very special" edition. AWESOME!
