In his 24 years @thetimes.com, Emery scooped the Watergate scandal and reported the Vietnam War as a foreign correspondent and sparred with PM Thatcher as political editor.

"Greater love hath no man than this" was written by John Ireland in 1912 and soon gained a special national resonance as casualties from WW1 grew.

It sets text from both St Peter and St Paul so is the perfect anthem for their joint feast day.

Roger Cooper – freelancer who reported Iranian human rights abuses and was arrested while living there, sentenced to imprisonment then death but abruptly released after 6 years.
