So yes, please praise my husband for the incredible dad he is because he really does so much for us and loves us all so fully. But please pause and consider whether you’re praising him for things that would be “just part of being a parent” for the default (see: female in our case) parent. 5/5

Just the insinuation that it would automatically be the mom’s job to be up with the kids at night every single night for 4+ years now is mind-melting. It’s one thing if your body is feeding them and you haven’t figured out bottles. But why would only one of us have bad sleep at this age? Sexism. 3/

Oh you’ll love it! It’s seriously one of my top 5 reads this year. And I agree with my dear spouse: the catharsis is real. Like if the *gestures wildly* has ever made you think “but what if they Didn’t win for once? With fire?” It’s a very Satisfying book.
