Change of plans. My Substack article this Friday will be about the softer side of the Archie Comics character, Reggie Mantle. Stay tuned.
This has been on my mind for a long time. I want this piece published the day before Free Comic Book Day and weeks before Archie is Mr. Justice #4 is released.

I got a variant cover of Samson #1 graded by CGC at C2E2 2025. Samson #1, written by Ben Lacy, drawn by Jhonesbas Craneo and published by Biting Comics, will be the first comic book that I review on Substack.

@mastafran.com I found an Our Valued Costumers comic that’s not only aged well but probably TOO well

…I’d rather they didn’t but I’m not holding my breath.
If DC actually does make Punchline into a character who can hold her own independently of the Joker, they’ll probably make her into an anti-hero too.
It’ll be just like Harley Quinn before her.

Punchline is great though!
The way she gassed her dorm with deadly chemicals to get the Joker’s attention, like a woman in love with Ted Bundy. 😳
But I feel like DC’s already sidelining her. If they do keep her around, let’s see if they turn her into an anti-hero too.

I love The Joker.
I also love female “villains” like Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Cat Woman. Of course, all three of these characters have been written as anti-heroes for some time now.
Where’s the female version of someone like the Joker? Why can’t a woman just be pure evil in superhero comics?

Every time I block a fool on Twitter, an angel gets her wings. But sadly, Elon Musk doesn’t want angels to get their wings. So here I am… finally seeing what this Blue Sky hullabaloo is about.
