A thorough guy like Jack Smith will have backup files in several places with everything needed to refile. He may pass on to trusted prosecutors who may remain at DOJ if Trump doesn't dump them all and start over with 100% loyal prosecutors.

Keep in mind the biggest reasons why the US hangs on to it's "Deterrent Nukes" -- Putin, Xi and Kim rejected and don't care about nuclear treaties and keep escalating their development and threats to use them. It takes all parties to cooperatively disarm.
