The reporter and NYT make this wild misrepresentation of what affirmative action is meant to do, only to have the next paragraph end like this: “(He was not accepted at Columbia.)” Fascist shills.
In an interview on Thursday, Mr. Mamdani, 33, said he did not consider himself either Black or African American, but rather “an American who was born in Africa.” He said his answers on the college application were an attempt to represent his complex background given the limited choices before him, not to gain an upper hand in the admissions process. (He was not accepted at Columbia.)

I’m just now reading the hit piece NYT did on Mamdani and had to stop due to how jaw-dropping outrageous this accusation by the reporter is. Like, no, that’s not what affirmative action has ever done. The advantage has ALWAYS been being white/male/cishet & AA sought to remedy that. My fucking god.
Columbia, like many elite universities, used a race-conscious affirmative action admissions program at the time. Reporting that his race was Black or African American in addition to Asian could have given an advantage to Mr. Mamdani, who was born in Uganda and spent his earliest years there.

The Zionist work of conflating anti-Zionism + anti-Israel sentiments with antisemitism has infiltrated a task force meant to examine antisemitism at Harvard (appointed by Harvard).

For those in the back: antisemitism is not present simply due to anti-Zionism and anti-Israel views!!!
The university commissioned the two reports, which were not meant to be investigative. The authors did not seek to verify the experiences described by the people who were surveyed. The antisemitism report recounted an episode in which a student asked not to work with an Israeli partner, and an instructor granted the request because “in their view, a student who supported the cause of an oppressed group should not be forced to work with a student identified as a member of an ‘oppressor group.’” In another episode in the report, a recently admitted medical student recounted arriving for a visitation day and encountering students yelling “Free Palestine” from a walkway, apparently to discourage Zionists from attending the school. The report said that some courses on Israel and Palestine were partisan and politicized. These courses were disproportionately taught by nontenure track faculty members, who were not as carefully vetted as more senior faculty are, the report said. The university recently adopted a contested definition of antisemitism, put forward by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, that counts some criticism of Israel as antisemitic. The definition is disputed, and critics say that it silences speech.

Judge Boasberg is not playing when it comes to this ridiculous argument of classification that the DOJ is attempting to assert re: the human trafficking case (under the guise of deportation) of migrants. He’s BEEN seeing some of the most top secret classified documents ever issued by the DOJ.
Before Judge Boasberg wore robes, he was a homicide prosecutor in Washington, D.C. President George W. Bush, a fellow Yale and Skull and Bones member, gave him his first job on the bench in 2002, as an associate justice of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Nine years later, former President Barack Obama nominated him to the federal bench in the capital, a position for which he was unanimously confirmed. In the years since, Judge Boasberg has served on a number of specialized courts. [highlighted by me] He was on the United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, which approves surveillance warrants, for seven years, [end highlight] rising to become its presiding judge during the first Trump administration. During the first Trump administration, he was also appointed to the U.S. Alien Terrorist Removal Court as its chief judge, a term that ended earlier this year. He took over as chief judge for the Federal District Court of the District of Columbia in 2023, succeeding Beryl A. Howell.

Ms. Sheinbaum agreed to deploy 10,000 additional troops, who President Trump said would be designated to stop the flow of migrants and illegal drugs across the U.S.-Mexico border. In return, Mexico will get at least a temporary reprieve from the blanket 25 percent tariffs Mr. Trump announced on Saturday, as well as help from the U.S. government to stanch the movement of guns back over the border, Ms. Sheinbaum said on Monday. The agreement, two days after Mr. Trump also announced tariffs of 25 percent against Canada and 10 percent against China, came amid fears that the measures would disrupt the global economy, roiling stock markets around the world.

This right here is why I'm raising the biggest red flag I can and dusting off The Loud Alarm for the Guantanamo Bay executive order specifically. There's a reason the Nazis didn't build any death camps in Germany. They built concentration camps in Germany, but almost all of the actual extermination camps were in Poland. Poland was the ideal location because it was: • ⁠Entirely under military control • ⁠Outside the country's formal borders • ⁠Inaccessible to domestic citizens • ⁠Close enough geographically to allow mass relocation of people there There's exactly ONE place that checks all those boxes for the US today, and I don't see it as a coincidence at all that that ONE place is where Trump decided to build his giant 'migrant detention camp.'

Guantanamo Bay is an expensive place, brings in all of its supplies from the United States by barge and aircraft carrying everything from fresh fruits and vegetables for the 5,000 or so residents to pallets of bottled water and the government vehicles that are issued to contractors on week- to year-long stays. It is independent of the Cuban grid, makes its own water and electricity, has its own fiber for phones and internet. Housing has been eased with the downsizing of the detention operation. There are 800 troops and civilians assigned to the mission that now holds 15 prisoners of the war against terrorism. But they'll not only have to house and feed the migrants, perhaps in those tents they have stored for an emergency, but all of the guards and staff they bring in to support the operation.

Angie is like … fully a villain lmao. She gets so nasty and confrontational and goes below the belt. I wish she / the fans would just embrace it because I’m tired of her being treated like a kind voice of reason who just wants everyone to get along. She’s messy and villainous asf! And I love that for this show. Honestly I would’ve kicked Angie out too. Meredith has been slut shamed by Angie before and stuck up for the next person to receive that treatment.
