Which doesn't mean you still don't think it's a film designed to fill a plot hole that didn't need filling and created new plot holes in the process.

It's a film my feelings about have changed over the years. Probably like it more now than I ever have given it's Andor season 3 😉

That's a fair assessment as well!

but the episode belongs to Scott Fredericks, Carnell is simply wonderful. Imipak is an interesting idea, and I love ‘the weapon protects itself’. On the face of it its ridiculous but the idea of seeding them so people avoid certain areas is chilling.

Croucher does a decent job and at least the changes to Travis’ personality are sorta explained (shame the director hated him) Bennett and Glendenning do good work (in particular her journey from slave to independent woman is nicely handled)

The Terra Nostra being just another arm of the Federation is a great twist, the guest cast get decent material, and all the regulars get a moment to shine. An episode so good even Gan is brilliant in it as the crew's conscience, shame this wasn't highlighted as a character trairt for him earlier.

I think it's the right call, but annoying because Vicky had potential to go further than Balvinder, but has to be on this dance.

One thing I do love is a wonderful bit of physical acting by Keating, when Vila Avon & Jenna are escaping he suddenly realises he’s in the lead and shuffles back until he’s behind them both. Just so spot on for the character. New effects do a good job of making the nuclear powerplant look more alien

I wonder what the BBC film would have been like, or how different Herbert's original script was?
