Stargate SG-1: Thor’s Hammer (S01 E10)

The first mention of the Asgard, who would become a big part of the show. An anti-Gou'ald device traps Jack and Teal'c.

It's full of tension and a is fascinating look at other "gods", but the ending doesn't quite land.

Stargate SG-1: Brief Candle (S01 E09)

Jack O'Neill ends up getting infected by something that causes to rapidly age, something that afflicts all the people on the planet they're visiting.

There's some off moments, but a very touching episode with some great makeup.

Stargate SG-1: The Nox (S01 E08)

SG-1 hunt for an invisible creature and have the opportunity to capture Apophis. They launch the most pitiful attack on him and get killed, revived by a seemingly simple but magical race.

Stargate SG-1: Cold Lazarus (S01 E07)

The first truly alien experience on the show, and a great emotional episode that delves into Jack's past. There's a few silly moments, but overall I loved this episode.

SG-1 investigate a missing team to discover that the leader has installed himself as their god. A good episode, although it feels a bit too early in the show for enough to have been established.

SG-1 bring back a virus that turns everyone into cavemen, and this episode features what is possibly the worst thing Daniel has ever suggested.

A remake of Star Trek TNG's Code of Honor. From the same writer, too. Carter is poorly written, because we know she's capable of getting out of the situation she's in.

Not a great start to the "planet of the week" episodes.

After returning from the previous mission, one member seems to be possessed by a Gou'ald.

With it being a direct continuation, it sends the message that Stargate is more serialised than a lot of shows at the time.

The stargate is activated after a year of doing nothing since the film. So much more is discovered about a vast system of gates.

Starting with the original movie. It's quite different to the series, but still important to understanding what's going on.

I really like that it has quite a slow built up before actually going through the Stargate.
