Let me try listening to this currently relevant Bridgerton book. I tried months ago and was not vibing with it, but I was also sick and fell asleep listening which probably sent me into weird fever dreams the skewed the actual story.

Blue Prince is the most disappointing game I have ever been hyped up to play. The puzzle of it is heavily reliant on RNG within RNG making the roguelite aspect infuriating. If the item placement was consistent, it would be a great strategy game for chaining the rooms together.

Chris makes his own cold brew and one of our nice local grocery stores sells their in house roasted beans for almost half off on Fridays. He’s out of coffee. I have to go to the store during the snow panic.

Chris is supposed to go back to the office tomorrow. We live at the bottom of a hill. The kid across the street made it up and down fine, but that was 4pm. Not 7am. He won't be penalized for working from home. He just started his more hands on training and it's much easier in person than on Teams.

It might snow again on Saturday. Uhh we're supposed to watch the kids that day. Based on temps, it's going to stick. Either the musical is canceled or big Lu needs to pick us up and drop us off.

I’m the only person in the house who doesn’t have to work today. Everyone else is working from home. Am I going to play video games all day? Yes. Am I going to feel guilty about it? Also yes.

In honor of Snowpocalypse 2026, here is my father. One week prior to Snowmageddon 2010.

MIL’s Alzheimer’s is progressing. If you’re not sitting on the couch, she’s asking what she can do to help every 10 minutes. I suggested filling a big basket of the clothes Wes recently grew out of for her to fold. She won’t know they’re not current and it will keep her hands busy for a while.

Time to get groceries. The parking lot is full. Wish me luck.
January 21, 2026 at 3:32 PM
They are now predicting up to 32”. How soon are the panic buyers going to trash the grocery stores? I might go this morning just to get everything we need for the next 1.5 weeks. Which is really just milk, yogurt, creamer, coffee, and snacks.

Current weather predictions say we’re getting 14” of snow next weekend.

He started mid pay period so he only received a week of pay. It’s all already claimed by the other half of rent and mid month bills. Then next paycheck will go to next months rent and end/beginning of month bills. By mid February, we can finally begin work on savings and debt. 😮‍💨
January 16, 2026 at 7:02 PM
Now that Chris has received his first paycheck and we have all the pricing for insurances and 401k, I was able to build a budget spreadsheet based on just his income. My income is so inconsistent that I didn’t include it in the calculations. Mine can go to savings, debt, and business growth.

Weasley update: He has improved significantly. He can get up on his own as long as it’s not 100% hardwood floor. We’re no longer using the support harness and is doing well with the leash. He’s still wobbly, but can catch himself most of the time. My lack of optimism paid off. 😅
January 16, 2026 at 5:39 PM
Weasley is trying to scoot a little. He still can’t get fully up on his own. We have a lift harness so we can get him moving and outside. Once up he can walk while supported. However, I’m still not optimistic. But we’re giving him the best shot. 😢

It might snow on Thursday? It wont stick. It'll 50+ all week.

Okay-ish news! He did not have a stroke. He has vertigo from vestibular disease. If he does not recover this week, there’s nothing else to do. Today and tomorrow should show the most progress.

Ginger also developed vestibular symptoms with her cancer. I made roomies aware it *could* be connected.

Really appreciating past me for hoarding the pee pads MIL didn’t need.
January 10, 2026 at 6:31 PM
I’m really hoping other roomie will be a voice of reason and their significant other will listen. This could get traumatic. If asked my opinion, I will voice it kindly.
January 10, 2026 at 6:29 PM
They’re taking Weasley to the vet. He has all the signs of a stroke.

He’s not my dog so I don’t have a say, but I really hope roomie will let him go without suffering if needed. If they decide otherwise, I will be his hospice nurse while they’re at work because I love him dearly.

Today was just a big info dump. They are apparently doubling the training time from the 6 weeks previous classes had to 12 weeks. Then another 12 weeks of no consequence cases. From there, he’ll need to keep up at least 80% accuracy.
January 8, 2026 at 12:55 AM
Today was Chris’ first official day of training. The last two days were onboarding and orientation. I can’t wait to hear what he learned!

Maybe my mom and I had Covid. Maybe it was just a weird cold. Maybe it was the flu but we had our shots so it wasn’t too bad. We both ended with the exact same symptoms, one day apart, including hyperosmia.
January 7, 2026 at 9:11 PM
Roomie made a jalapeño cheddar loaf or something and the main floor of the house smells so bad 🤮. It took 10 minutes to make dinner and the smell made me queasy. I lost my appetite.

Usually when they make bread, it smells lovely.
