Charlie Brown understood the greatness of side dishes, I think! 😂 Happy Thanksgiving!

That sounds really good! I went plant-based about 2 years ago. My main dish go-to for Thanksgiving now is a lentil shepherd’s pie. I love it so much that now I have it at other times of the year!

That sounds really nice! I think online church things can feel a bit impersonal at times, but this is a great way to overcome that.

And if we do form a men’s group at my church, I think we should call it “Dudes in Christ.” 😁 (Inspired by a posting I just saw in a gay men’s Christian group on FB.)

There is an Episcopal church in my city which has what seems to be a pretty active men’s ministry group. Really wish we had one at my church! I would definitely participate in it.

Could be worse, though…we could be getting the stern lectures about buying coffee again! 🙄

No, Matt, I think you meant Miracle Whip. *That* is the true instrument of Satan!
November 27, 2025 at 1:49 AM
Same! Why would I want that smell to spread all over the rest of the house?

They are different, yes. I usually don't do MP on Sundays since I will be going to church, so I just read the lectionary readings.

I am also considering it as well. I think it would be a good time to serve as we are probably undergoing a significant renovation at my church soon.
November 26, 2025 at 7:09 PM
Agree 100%. I find that it's become part of my routine now, so I feel "off" if I don't do it.
November 26, 2025 at 7:05 PM
I think I would have a piece for nostalgia's sake, if nothing else. I'm sure the brandy made it better!

If you’re making a pecan pie and you *think* you have enough pecans, you almost certainly don’t!
November 26, 2025 at 5:40 AM
Can’t imagine *any* reason why Canada would want to do so.
November 26, 2025 at 5:37 AM
Kind of liking this idea! 👍
November 26, 2025 at 5:32 AM
Do it! Why the heck not?
November 26, 2025 at 5:30 AM
That sounds like a pretty good plan!

Compline is another possibility! I typically do MP and Compline most days as it seems to work well for my schedule. But I would suggest trying all 3 (not all the same day unless you have time) and see what you like best.

I am unashamed to state that I have had pie for breakfast and enjoyed it immensely!
November 26, 2025 at 2:50 AM
Honestly, this is a large part of the reason I try to do most of my cooking on the weekend. Cooking after work is just more drudgery for me.
November 26, 2025 at 2:13 AM
100%. I cannot imagine just how silly I would look with a comb over, nor do I ever want to!
November 26, 2025 at 2:08 AM
He is! I think I would go to that salon just to see him and give him some skritches. ❤️

My church is Team Sarum Blue. Our cathedral is Team Purple.

Ooof yes. That one was hard to take. Another one I think about a lot is the death of Asher in "The Good Doctor." That one was a double-whammy of homophobia and anti-Semitism.
November 25, 2025 at 11:02 PM
Envious! But have a great time anyway!
