The notorious Chilly Willy, who broke loose in 1990 and made it to Canada, ultimately found by the U.S. Coast Guard on the Canadian side of Lake St. Clair. Probably Detroit's only Thanksgiving balloon scandal.

the only balloon disaster I can think of for Detroit's Thanksgiving Parade is the Chilly Willy Scandal.

saw it for the first time at Noir City Detroit as a double feature with 99 River Street. Just an incredible film.
