In- and out-of-sample fit performance for the benchmark model (DNS) and the 4Fmodel model. The upper panels show the cross-sectional root mean squared error at each time point, obtained by fitting the models to the eSTR term structure (left) and EURIBOR (right). Calibration is performed using 80% of the observations. The term structure is then reconstructed via the Kalman filter both in-sample and out-of-sample. The middle panels display the in-sample root average (across time) squared errors for each maturity, while the bottom panels refers to the out-of-sample performance. All errors are expressed in basis points.
