I read novels, more than is healthy. Mostly SFF, some historical and romance. Will follow authors. True liberalism has never been tried. He/him.
You don't know how to read English.

Anyone who has more than 2 pillows on their bed urgently needs therapy for some deep issues, probably psychosexual in nature.

Check out footnote 12: “The statutory plan discloses a Congressional purpose that after the expiration of the 120-day period further interim appointments are to be made by the court rather than by the Attorney General.”
from an OLC memo written by... Samuel Alito.

I don't know if a reader is meant to like or identify with Cersei, but those chapters certainly made me pity her. That whole book is great, but turning the villain around and showing her to be pathetic, terrified, and easily manipulated was some of the best.

I watched Valkyrie Drive Mermaid 10 years ago, and I think that's all I need to baffle, horrify, and disgust basically anyone. I'd be astounded if anything's topped that.

The weirdest part of the Anthropic lawsuit is that the judge ruled that using books for AI training is fair use. They won on the most controversial core argument. But they still have to pay because they pirated all the books!

3-4. If I want a beverage in my room, it can't be water or else my cat will stick her face in it. I'm American and also drink lots of coffee.

I told this asshole to stop doing this shit in my last email. Starting to think he doesn't even read them.

One of my favorite things about Disco Elysium is the game gives you a baggy to pick up empty bottles to turn in for a few cents at the drug store as if it was an actual way to make money. I got tricked into doing it for hours before I realized I made less than $5 and snapped out of it.

He is spending money that was not authorized, and refusing to spend money that was authorized. The courts and Congress won't stop him. Democrats cannot stop the evil being done. Sometimes the most you can do is refuse to participate, and that's why they shouldn't cave on the bill.

I absolutely would not consider that an epic, but it sure is an incredible film.

Big Country with Gregory Peck is really good. Once Upon a Time in the West also very solid. How the West Was Won is campy and silly, but also a lot of fun.

They can just leave. This is why we need to fix property taxes in California-you can't just pick up your land and take it out of state.

I found the data that I thought showed this, and it turns out I misremembered. Chicken meat is only 2-3 times more carbon intensive than some plant foods, though still an order of magnitude more than most grains. Eggs are actually pretty close to rice, pound for pound.

The carbon impact of the lowest impact meat is an order of magnitude higher than the the highest impact plant food.

The main reason I engage with history is get some idea of how people used to live and think, and this series did a great job of that. Thank you for writing it!

I agree with you 100%.

By all means, state courts should try to go after these guys, but they have a lot of ways to delay trial and overturn convictions, especially if this corrupt Supreme Court gets involved.

There are a lot of examples in that article, including some where officers were granted immunity for obviously illegal conduct because it was judged "objectively reasonable", a standard that basically means whatever the judge wants it to.
October 16, 2025 at 2:28 AM
That gives defendants a lever to appeal to federal courts, which can then dismiss the charges. And it seems like the current court would abuse that ability to let all these guys off the hook.

Doesn't supremacy clause immunity apply? Or at the very least it's likely the Supreme Court will say supremacy clause immunity applies.

There's a great vampire romance series by Lara Hayes, Terrible Praise and All Together Stranger. What makes the vampires monstrous is that they have to kill every time they feed, and they have to feed every few days. That's a lot of corpses! They're actually monsters, unlike many vampire.
