I may have made too large a leap there. I think that executives don’t care about operating systems (or their UI design) much beyond what said OS+UI can do to sell their stable of integrated products+services. I think that attitude is at least part of why newer UIs are often beautiful garbage.

It seems obvious Trump is compelled to push his mania until he is stopped. He does not have morals, conscience, internal bottom. Anything he can get away with next is what's next. He's a runaway cart going downhill. Our democracy chugged along with good faith even as imperfect as it was. No more.
