They deserve compensation for their work. If we want their stories, we have to support them somehow. I know indie media outlets exist, but I also know their limits. I used to work in film and the people making this art are friends and neighbors. So, we all choose our battles and trust it evens out.

My husband and I were just talking about this re: media. We’ve made some changes but, at this point, you can trace most movies and shows back to terrible companies. But the people pouring their talent into those stories don’t often choose who distributes them. +

That is fantastic! What nib are you using?

Same! It was awful! Just a couple on my stomach and it was like being on fire. I know my fibromyalgia amplified it, so I’m scared of getting a full case. But insurance denied the vax to a friend with *MS* because “too young.” She of course got shingles soon after. 🤦‍♀️ I know they won’t approve me. 😒

I wish they’d tell us when/where it happens! Got in bed on Friday night at my exhausted limit and found cat breakfast vomit under the blankets. Soaked clear through the mattress cover. 🤦‍♀️ Spent yesterday using the upholstery cleaner and now my arms and shoulders are wet noodles. 😅

Was also coming here to suggest this. I volunteered at mine with kids, but I know they were always looking for people to help with that. You just visit the library or email and say you want to volunteer and they will happily hook you up!

At least he asks. Lately Sploot just steals licks and bites right off the human plates and bowls! He got a bit of salmon with butter, a Cornish hen drumstick, and had to be put away because he kept trying to take leftover turkey while my husband was eating it. Crimes!

The pop and everything was part of it. May have had some hypermobile rib action going on, but the doc said pleurisy can feel like a rib popping.
December 7, 2025 at 12:46 AM
It could also be pleurisy. I had this exact same scenario happen in high school while I was home sick with pneumonia or bronchitis. Called my mom because I thought I broke a rib. It still amazes me we didn’t further investigate why my immune system was so crappy. 🤦‍♀️ Rest and drugs were the cure.

All my cats’ favorite toys are garbage-based except for one wand toy that has a magnet on the end of the line. It’s supposed to connect to various lures so they can “steal” them. Sploot, however, prefers to just chase the little magnet like it’s a bug. So it’s a half-win for me, I guess. 🤷‍♀️

If I’m being generous to normal dems (i.e. not strategists) who think this, it’s prob because they love someone who is GOP/MAGA and they want them to see the truth. However, that’s not a great party strategy and Uncle Chuck isn’t changing his mind because Dems are GOP lite. Wow him with real change!

The litter when fresh setsoff a series of events that makes the city have to trace the radioactive litter back to you and find out why you have it and do tons of paperwork EVERY TIME you throw it away. Keeping it for 6 months so the radiation breaks down is easier for everyone and less about safety.

My hyperthyroid kitty passed from
Cancer before we could do this, but I did tons of research and talked with some vets about it. Turns out the litter thing is to keep the city from investing you! Most waste management systems will track even minor radiation. +

I love hummingbirds and going to Costa Rica was so amazing for that! Went to a hummingbird sanctuary and just watched them for hours. Also, this one’s little feet! 🥰

How awful that his people gave up on him! Thank you for adopting him and seeing him through his golden years. My 14yo tux boy had hyperthyroidism. He was my heart cat and he passed away in January from a quick and aggressive cancer. I would’ve given anything for another 5 years with him.

Seriously, on the days I can walk without much pain (it’s never no pain), I’m happy to take advantage and walk from the back of the parking lot! Let people do what they need to do to live their lives!
December 3, 2025 at 1:59 AM
that told me that she was afraid I would overuse it or something. Even though I said “sometimes” and “only when I’m in a lot of pain.” Meanwhile my family keeps asking “why don’t they give you one.” But I’m also glad I don’t have to deal with “you don’t look disabled enough to park there.” 😒 +
December 3, 2025 at 1:59 AM
There have been days where in order to do what I needed to do without collapsing for hours at home after, I needed to park closer to the grocery store/post office/whatever. I don’t have a disabled pass. I asked my usually amazing Dr about it once and she said “we’re not there yet” with a look +

Oh no! Not useful at the moment, but I got a wrought iron “ornament display” tree that’s about 5 feet tall so the cats would stop eating/climbing the fake tree, which we got so they’d stop eating the real tree… Anyway, still festive, less mess all around, and no plastic. (Fake trees go outside now.)
