Museums have become part of the problem regarding the commercial fossil market. Deals like those surrounding “Apex” the Stegosaurus at the AMNH and the “Dueling Dinosaurs” at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences undermine paleontology while claiming to be gains for the science.
