Did he forget that one of those right wing radicals took a shot at him?

Is there a better picture of him at the Charlie Kirk event? That could be any short haired white guy with sunglasses.

Are the major payment processors refusing service to independent artists yet? I know they're cutting off large marketplaces like Steam and ItchIO, but have they started being so granular as to investigate what individual sellers are up to?

For the UK at least, electricity is a fair bit more expensive than gas, because the government in their infinite wisdom have decided that energy prices should be tied to the most expensive source, regardless of how much that source is used to actually generate it. So it's hard to justify switching.

You're doing the 'You like pancakes? So you hate waffles then?' thing.

I fear this issue goes well beyond the shores of the US.

It looks great, but it also looks exactly like the face a cat makes when it smells something that it wants to get a good huff of, like another cat's piss.

And that's not to say fixed initiative is better than loose initiative, they both have pros and cons. This is just one of the cons with loose initiative. Fixed initiative has its own set of problems that you sometimes need to work around too.

It's not just a spotlight hog that can cause the problem. You get the same issue if most of the party are less inclined to act, and one or two players frequently need to take the lead. And yes, there are guidelines to work around it, but they're solving an issue introduced by the system.

This isn't the part that bothers people, it's who goes first amongst each group that people get hung up on. Daggerheart lets you go in any order, as many times as you want, but a failure hands control to the DM again. There is an argument that it could let spotlight hogs ruin the game for others.

They see a 'socialist' like Mamdani as being totally unelectable, so they're pushing him to split the vote and make it easier for them in the general election. The democrats did a similar thing with Trump in 2016, it backfired for them horribly, which hopefully happens here too.

Seeing his partner, and then the kid, was being like punched twice in the face.

It's from Golden Axe, an old Sega game.

It's because they know people will push the limit. If they set them at 40, people would drive 50.

I thought 90% of the hobby was filling a shelf with obscure and esoteric manuals that you get out once in a while to look at for the rad art, but largely gloss over the minutiae of the rules and gameplay.

I think you've just proved the point that it is largely arbitrary. The bottom one is obviously wrong, but the difference in dash width just seems like an aesthetic choice rather than a functional one.

Oh, you just spent £200 on a brand new pair of headphones? Perhaps you'd be interested in buying the exact same pair of headphones again?

There are still web forums out there. They're certainly not common anymore, but they aren't extinct yet.

Not to say black activists haven't utilised boycotts very effectively, but boycotts are named after Charles Boycott. An Irish landlord, and the 'victim' of the movement that coined the term in 1880. I imagine the practice pre-dates the coining of the term too, so it's been around for a while.

Tame Impala's one guy is actually about 5'10", so he's a pretty regular sized musician. Slightly above average size if anything.

I'd argue it's a better experience because I don't have to stand around waiting in a queue. It has inconvenient edge cases for sure, but I don't have to wait behind a family who haven't decided what they want until they get to the counter. I don't think anxiety plays as big a role as you think.

You can ring in one person's long order twice as fast as they can do it themselves on their phone, but they aren't the only person ordering on their phone. It's still faster for ten people to order when they can do it asynchronously, even if it takes each individual double the time to do it.
March 8, 2025 at 6:50 PM
I don't think there is a connection between automated systems and phone anxiety. Automated call systems are a consequence of capitalistic pursuit of cost saving, they aren't doing it to make anxious millennials comfortable, they're doing it to employ less people.

I think you're running on a slightly different definition of flashmob.
