It’s estimated that the western parts of Kansas have about 25 years of water left in the aquifer. The farmers have resisted any changes by the state because they think they can do better, yet here we are, and they haven’t made much, if any progress at all on conservation efforts.

The Republicans in the statehouse have a super-majority, so it’s hard to get any common-sense legislation through. They’re all trying to make Kansas look like Texas, and only the state Supreme Court and governor are holding back the idiocy. Those of us that can are trying to fix this.
