PhD defenses in Spain last longer than 3.5 hours. Don’t get me wrong. For me now, it’s great. Just pack some food, drinks, coffee, learn to stretch while sitting. That would have made my experience incredible.

For me, this story illustrates that the whisper network is not sufficient. Despite having been in the same field, parts of overlapping social networks, and near enough topically to have corresponded with him several times, the Bloomberg piece is the first I had heard of it!

Great news: finally Miles Hewstone is exposed. I stopped citing him years ago, I warned friends/colleagues when I saw them publishing together, I informed as many people as possible about him. We all did. Had this piece been published 15 years ago, everyone would have already known. Shame on Oxford.

Great news: finally Miles Hewstone is exposed. I stopped citing him years ago, I warned friends/colleagues when I saw them publishing together, I informed as many people as possible about him. We all did. Had this piece been published 15 years ago, everyone would have already known. Shame on Oxford.

I had a great time today at Nanterre thanks to @cbadea.bsky.social after having lunch at the VIP salon and petting sheep eating grass :)
