i really love this later variant kobayashi did for Dragon's Heaven (or possibly earlier since this was being made during zeta). design so good you just keep using it

Mad Dog Time is a movie where the first scene is captioned "...some time later" where the only thing to have happened prior to it is the opening credits. i think that this is a masterpiece of cinema

it's not that mysterious to me now that i know why it's there but this door to nowhere on an old mill building in my home town captivated me as a kid. i used to imagine that going through it would take you to another world

i think often about this discussion between Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hideaki Anno. it's one of the funniest ways anyone has ever talked about restraint vs self indulgence in art.

this discussion was from char's counterattack and tomino says some utterly bizaare stuff like this throughout. i think, despite it all, he's one of the funniest guys to ever do it.

i haven't seen victory gundam yet, but it's one i'm interested in! i did really enjoy Zeta but it also exhausted me by the end and made me not want to see any more UC stuff for a while, so i ended up skipping to Turn A which became my favourite gundam work. here's Tomino's comments

a year or so later i was asked to pick a game to get for my birthday. i was still in my Frog Era, and i did consider Frogger, but in the end i went with Ribbit King. i didn't even know what kind of game it was, i just knew i wanted to find out. some of my earliest surviving art is ribbitking fanart!

when i was 9, i was walking back from school with my dad, and he turns to me and asks me if i have any personal heroes. he tells me when he was my age, his hero was Captain Kirk, because of his bravery and intelligence. my answer was Frogger, because i'd seen an advert for this upcoming game.

i played it again last year briefly and the transport is instantanious now and the towns look like websites from the mid 2000's where clicking anything will give your computer like 15 funny viruses. i was able to reach level 200 in under an hour.

there's also this model i started making of Windmill at some point, but I ended up running out of time and didn't prioritize it since the model wouldn't appear anywhere in game. I'd like to finish it eventually though, since I'd like to tell more stories set in this world one day.
