Unacceptable: Democrats saying they will work with Trump in areas there’s agreement. Acceptable: Democratic Socialists saying they will work with Trump in areas there’s agreement. Unacceptable: Kamala Harris calling Trump a fascist. Acceptable: Zohran Mamdani calling Trump a fascist. Unacceptable: Democrats like Janet Mills running in Dem primaries. Acceptable: Totekopf Democratic Socialists running in Dem primaries. Unacceptable: Any Democrat over 65, especially women, running for anything, staying in office, or being in any position of leadership on the Democratic Party because they are too old to have a clue. Acceptable: 82-year-old non-Democrat Bernie Sanders running for, staying in office, and having a leadership position for as long as he danged well pleases because he is the voice of the future. The Leftyists I'm seeing are not particularly feminist, socialist, or humanist. So, what's revolutionary about them? They wanna elect mostly men, mostly white, and a few Nazis. Wooo I'm so impressed.

Isaac Asimov identified the epistemological problem we are experiencing now in this country, where people eschew actual knowledge in favor of their own opinions. He said “There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.” And he was right. It's how we ended up with an administration that defies every reasonable heuristic of governance, replacing it with this bizarre collusive fantasy where nonsense in the service of corruption is the only knowledge they tolerate.
