Yup. Leadership in corp is filled with people that are incompetent because they promote people that can play the part of a leader without actually rocking the boat (don't solve problems, ignore them until they're too big - then fire underlings). It's not just tech.

In my area they've added a bunch of bike lanes in the last few years, which opened up a new debate: Can you use a bike lane as a turning lane? It's infuriating, and every comment thread about it includes plenty of "I never see any bikes on that road". I do - and there's plenty of memorials.
