Interested in most wildlife, moths in particular even those brightly coloured day flying ones that think they’re something special. Based in West Yorks but a stones throw away from the South Yorks border, VC63.
Final counts from last night (22/11) were 5 December Moth and 3 Mottled Umber (and I also managed to dodge the rain). #teammoth

Finally my first ever December Moth, trapped tonight (22/11) in my VC63 garden. A big thank you to all the #teammoth posters that persuaded me it was worth putting the trap out tonight.

For the last week or so a pre-bedtime check of the windows has proved very productive. Tonight was no exception with Scare Umber, Mottled Umber, Light Brown Apple Moth, Large Pale Masoner and what I think might be another Blastobasis species. #teammoth

Last night (8/11) was my first time trapping for a few weeks, due to a mixture of poor health and poor weather. Caught 3 Scare Umber which are NFY. #teammoth

No trapping tonight as I’ve got the lurgy and feel rubbish. Did manage to drag myself from my sick bed to photograph this, what I think is Mompha sturnipennella, on the bedroom window though. ID correction / confirmation most welcome. #teammoth

Just 3 moths in the VC63 garden trap last night (22/9)including Black Rustic, Large Yellow Underwing and my first Lunar Underwing of the year. Not too disappointing given the low temperature. #teammoth

Fairly quiet night with 47 moths of 22 species in and around the garden trap (VC63). Only a couple were NFY including Brindled Green and what I think is Peppered Grey (Eudonia truncicolella). #teammorth

No trapping tonight but did rescue this NFY Small Ranunculus from my bedroom. #teammoth
August 20, 2025 at 9:10 PM
Some unforcast rain meant a rather damp garden trap to open this morning (19/8). 58 moths of 28 species with 4 NFY wasn’t too disappointing however. The NFYs including two Nutmeg, a Sallow and a handful of Pale Mottled Willow. #teammoth

Disturbed this Small Dusty Wave while in garden and luckily it decided to settle on the back door for a photo. #teammoth
