Also in the player hub people are constantly fighting duels everywhere but because this game runs like shit ass when you ask it to actually be an mmo sometimes the other combatant in a duel wont show up so it's just one guy losing a very violent fight to thin air

I think the reason why this happened to dunmeshi in particular is that the scans had the benefit of having a pretty teeny tiny font size but the official has to have a large font for print. Unfortunately this makes all the dialogue super terse and stiff

I have all the books in japanese but i still miss the snappy quality of the scans. To my memory only a few things were ever mistranslated too. It conveys the original meaning while sounding fun and natural and fluent. Chef kiss

Dungeon meshi having good scans is a big reason why i read it in the first place. I can't stand "manga dialogue" where its been translated into english without any regard for the cadence of colloquial english.. idk
