It seems like a more pragmatic take on Mel, since they liked the idea that she liked puzzle boxes, because if you can figure them out, there would be a prize at the center.

There was another scrapped idea between Mel and Silco. After taking over the Lanes in episode 4, Silco goes to meet with Mel at a Piltover bathhouse, but he felt out of place, so Mel asks him to get in, so he meets her halfway and dunks his feet in.

Benzo caught doing this and was to be made an example, so Vander and Silco had to take a hard look and ask if they wanted to stop being criminals. Silco believed they would never been seen as equals, but they had an agreed to do it peacefully. However, Silco was going to save Benzo no matter what.

An unrealized idea for Vander and Silco, was they used to be a trio in the old days with Benzo. To fund their dreams, they used their knowledge of the tunnels to smuggle stuff beneath Piltover's tight restrictions.

From Arcane: Looking Back. Concept art for Vi of one of the original pitches where it her that became Silco's ward instead of Jinx, while Powder went off on a blimp to Bilgewater. Vi took on the role of Silco's enforcer instead of Sevika. Jinx would have also been taken under Viktor's tutelage
