That’s also a pretty large one.

I get it, but as someone who has worked in higher ed fundraising, I can assure you that this may not always be optional.

Republicans should be thanking their lucky stars their map wasn’t allowed. Their greed got the better of them when carving it up, and in their pursuit of four R-majority seats, they might have lost two relatively close seats in a blue wave like we saw last week. They dodged a bullet.

These dudes should be thrilled that a judge just saved them from greedily setting themselves up to lose two seats instead of one in a blue wave election.

Bicameralism is a way of limiting the power of a single body and that body’s leadership and creating monopolistic power. It creates a need for some compromise. In a system like the French Sénat, this can slow down bad bills long enough to make them better. Two pairs of eyes can improve legislation.

There’s an argument to be made that upper houses should have a defined, limited role, instead of having one house to everything. But in the end it matters a lot less than having an actually representative democracy.
November 10, 2025 at 9:24 PM
This is more or less the case with many upper bodies-the Lords, the French Senate, etc. they all have a very narrow and limited mandate.

Los Angeles County has the same population as the states currently represented collectively by 20 senators. Either abolish the Senate or create a Senate where that ridiculous reality no longer exists. Or give LA 20 senators!

Please call for Schumer and Durbin to be removed from leadership. They have failed. I’ve voted for you twice and I won’t ever again if you can’t challenge the cowards who allowed this.
November 10, 2025 at 5:11 AM
Please call for a vote to remove Schumer and Durbin from leadership. It’s the only real way to demonstrate leadership right now.

Call for a vote to remove Schumer from leadership or this is just postering.
